The Dalmore Constellation Master Class

1st October 2013  Excelsior Suite, Hotel Hermitage

Monte Carlo, Monaco

Presented by Richard Paterson, Master Blender, The Dalmore

Richard Paterson, the Global Master Blender of Whyte and Mackay and the Dalmore Whisky, gave members and guests of the Monte Carlo Whisky Society a wonderfully  entertaining presentation and tasting in the Excelsior Suite at the Hotel Hermitage.

Described  as “the most exclusive and expensive tasting of The Dalmore Constellation Collection ever”, Richard presented four very special and very different whiskies, explaining with great expertise and knowledge the unique properties of each. The total value of the four bottles of single malt tasted was 47,000 euros. Consisting of 21 individual releases, each of the rare whiskies in the collection have spent their lives finessing in the finest casks from around the world before being bottled at natural cask strength and at natural colour.

To start, Richard served a dram of the Dalmore King Alexander III as a welcoming drink and then offered his audience the Constellation 1980, the 1979, the 1973 and finally the oldest the 1964!

The night’s tasting was a precursor to the Monte Carlo Whisky Conference to be held in Monaco from November 29 until December 1, at which collectors, investors and connoisseurs of the finest whiskies will gather for its debut edition.

Fifty golden ticket holders will gain unprecedented access to leading whisky experts and to some of the finest collectable whiskies with a total value in excess of 500,000 euros.

Anita Di Sotto, Secretary-General of the Monte Carlo Whisky Society and founder of the Monte Carlo Whisky Conference explained to the audience that the forthcoming event has been created in response to the enormous interest in prestige whiskies.
